The ScreenConnect host client contains many options to interact with both the guest machine and the user. This page will explain these options in detail.

Edit2.1 File Menu

- Send Ctrl+Alt+Del - Selecting this option issues the Control+Alt+Delete command to the guest machine.
- Reboot and Reconnect - Selecting this option reboots the guest machine. Once the reboot has completed the ScreenConnect session will automatically reconnect.
- Normal Mode - Selecting this option reboots the guest machine in Normal mode.
- Safe Mode - Selecting this option reboots the guest machine in Safe mode.
- Reverse Screen Share - Allows the host to share a screen with the guest. If there are multiple monitors, you can select which one to share with the guest.
- Blank Monitor - Blacks out the guest's screen, showing only a black background with the name of the company. The name can be changed in the Administration page.
- Disable Control - Selecting this option removes keyboard and mouse control from the Host.
- Exit - Selecting this option ends the remote session. See INFO-0001: Joining and Hosting ScreenConnect Sessions for more information.

- Full Screen - With this option selected the host will view the guest machine in Full Screen Mode.
- Monitor - Select which of the guest's monitors to view.
- Zoom - Enlarge or shrink the host client window.
- Quality - Selecting these options allow the Host to control the color depth of the remote session.
- High (true color) - This option provides a true color representation of the guest machine.
- Medium (mixed) - This option uses our screen capturer which examines the screen and sends changes. The changes are sent in grayscale first, then only after the capturer catches up, it fills in the grayscale areas with true color.
- Low (grayscale) - This option provides a grayscale representation of the guest machine.
- Always On Top - Choose whether to display the host client window above all other windows.

- Chat - Selecting this option allows the host and guest to communicate with one another via a chat window. Additionally, if you place a fully qualified URL in the chat window and send it to the guest, the link will be clickable.
- Send Files - This option allows the Host to transfer files to the guest machine. The Send Files dialog opens and allows the host to navigate to the location of the file being sent. When the file is selected, click Open to send the file. On the guest machine an explorer window will open and the file will be saved to the C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\My Documents\ScreenConnect directory.
- Receive Files - This option allows the Host to receive files from the guest machine. The Send Files dialog opens on the guest machine and allows either the guest or the host to navigate to the location of the file being received. When the file is selected, click Open to receive the file. On the host machine an explorer window will open and the file will be saved to the C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\My Documents\ScreenConnect directory.
- Copy Screen - This option allows the host to copy the guest machine screen to the clipboard. It can then be pasted as an image.
- Save Screen -This option allows the host to save a snapshot of the guest machine. When selected this will open a Save As dialog and allow the guest machine to be saved as an image file.
- Start Recording - This option allows the host to begin recording a ScreenConnect session.
- Stop Recording - When the recording process is stopped, Windows Explorer will open the C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\My Documents\ScreenConnect directory, which is the save location for the recording. The video is saved as a .avi file.
- Receive Sound - When checked, the client will play a sound when a file is received.
- Custom Toolbox - The Custom Toolbox is where the host can store files, such as executables, and use them on a guest's machine. Learn more about the Custom Toolbox in HOWTO-0018: Using the Custom Toolbox feature.

On the right side of the host client toolbar is a row of icons that can launch certain ScreenConnect functions quickly and easily.
- The wrench opens the Custom Toolbox.
- The magnifying glass allows you to zoom in or out.
- The set of windows will let you select which of the guest's monitors to view.
- The circle toggles recording.
And the three remaining icons minimize the window, maximize the window, and close the window, respectively.
