Edit1 Summary
On the
ScreenConnect download page, users will find two different types of software builds available: pre-release and stable. This document discusses the differences between the two types of builds.
Edit2 More Information
Edit2.1 Stable Builds
A designation of stable certifies that a software build has been through our complete quality assurance process and has also been through external beta testing for some defined period of time. The last two or three stable builds will be available on our Download page. The
release history for each build including enhancements and bug fixes is also available.
Edit2.2 Pre-Release Builds
Our software download page typically includes a pre-release version of ScreenConnect available for testing. Each pre-release has gone through varying levels of cursory internal testing and quality assurance. Pre-release software is still under development, so software bugs may exist.
We do not support using pre-releases in a production environment. Do so at your own risk.We will provide support for pre-releases at our own convenience. Please do not expect immediate support for issues you encounter with pre-releases. We will not help with data recovery, rollback, or any other extensive support tasks due to the use of a pre-release.You should back up your installation before upgrading to a pre-release.EditPlease let us know if there is anything else we can mention to discourage you from installing a pre-release in a production environment.
